Personal Closeness To Songwriters Is The Key To The Trio Ambition To Stay Comfortable To Work

Trio Ambitious When appearing at Soundsfest 2025 (Ivan Two Men/VOI)

JAKARTA - On its stage performances, the Trio Ambition often performs songs created by others, such as Don't Do It Three Times, Olan Parmeam-Meam, 'Sasada Ho, Where May Mendua Hati, Sapala Naung Hupilit, to Mardua Holong, which is performed on the Soundsfest 2025 stage.

Regarding the use of songs composed by others, the group consisting of Andi Situmorang, Joe Harlen Simanjuntak, and Eli Marojak Simanjuntak ensured that it was entirely based on the Copyright Law (UUHC).

"For now (appearing at the Soundsfest 2025), as we saw at UUHC, we just have to bring it. Maybe EO is responsible for that," said Andi, met behind the Soundsfest stage which took place at Gambir Expo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday, May 25.

The regulations are certainly different when Trio Ambition wants to present these songs in a music recording. They confirmed there was an agreement and permission for the songwriter.

In addition, Trio Ambition believes that good relations with songwriters and other singers are the key to keeping them comfortable in their work.

"If we are internal, communication with creators and other singers, we have no difficulties there," said Joe Harlen.

"Yes, we are still close to the creators. Our relationship with our juniors is also good," said Andi.

Trio Ambition is well aware that personal closeness with musicians and other artists is a good thing. They also believe that all parties must respect each other.

"Yes, there are also singers who do not have closeness (to songwriters). But if we respect each other, fellow artists. The point is communication," said Andi.
