Billy Joel Delays All Concerts Until 2026 Due To Hydrocephalus Disease

Billy Joel announced the cancellation of dozens of upcoming shows scheduled from June this year to July 2026, due to health conditions that did not allow him to appear on stage.

Through uploads on Instagram, management of 76-year-old singer-songwriters said that the decision was taken after a recent diagnosis, in which Joel is said to be suffering from normal pressure hydrocephalus.

"Billy Joel has announced he will cancel all scheduled concerts following a diagnosis of the disease, namely Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH)," the statement reads, quoted on Sunday, May 25.

"This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, which have caused problems with hearing, vision, and balance," he continued.

Based on the doctor's instructions, Billy must undergo special physical therapy and has been advised not to appear during this recovery period.

"Billy is grateful for the extraordinary care she has received and is fully committed to prioritizing her health," management said. He is grateful for the support from fans so far and looks forward to the day when he can return to stage.

In addition, Joel also apologized to the fans who had been waiting for the show.

"I'm really sorry for disappointing our audience, and thank you for the understanding," Joel said.

At the same time, the management also announced about the refund for the canceled show, where the process will be carried out automatically and the ticket purchase money will be returned to the first buyer.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member previously postponed several tour schedules for four months, after revealing that he had just undergone surgery. At that time, Joel did not reveal his health condition.
