Boyz II Men Becomes A Band, Performs Covers Of Bruno Mars Songs To The Beatles

JAKARTA - The Boyz II Men has completed two of their newest performances in Jakarta through a concert titled Boyz II Men & Kahitna Live in Jakarta which will be held at Istora Senayan on May 21 and 22.

The two shows were attended by thousands of spectators with all tickets sold out of various age groups, most of whom were women in their 20s to 40s.

The appearance of Boyz II Men on those two nights not only presented hits that became the audience's favorites. They also tried something new to appear in a band format where Wakya Morris as the main vocalist, Shawn Stockman playing electric guitar, and Nathan Morris playing bass. Of course, this format is still supported by an accompanying band.

"We're going to try something different, I hope you like it, because we also like it," said Wakya before Boyz II Men appeared in a band format.

They also performed several song covers, which were selected based on the theme "change".

"This (repertoire) is about change," said Wakya.

Sam Cooke's 'A Change Is Gonna Come' was chosen to open a series of song covers, followed by Are You Gonna Go My Way and American Woman from Lenny Kravitz.

Initially, the audience's response was not as enthusiastic as Boyz II Men performed his hits, such as 'Water Runs Dry', 'On Bended Knee', or 'Four Seasons of Loneliness'. However, the silence of the audience changed when the band performed Bruno Mars' cover song, 'Locked out of Heaven'.

Not stopping yet, the group with personnel who have known each other since high school also brought 'Come Together' from The Beatles and Prince's 'Purple Rain'.

What Manya cs shows is far from their impression as a group known for its beauty and melodic melody when it sings. Now they appear as a band complete with Shawn's guitar solo game.

After bringing a series of covers as a band, Boyx II Men continued the show with the audience's favorite songs, ranging from I'll Make Love to You, One Sweet Day, to End of the Road.

For information, the appearance of Boyz II was preceded by Kahitna who performed dozens of her best songs, including Love Story', 'If He Knows', 'For me', 'Soulmate', 'Love Alone', to 'Beautiful'.

Almost all of the Boyz II Men fans who attended also watched Kahitna's performance, from start to finish. Their enthusiasm has not diminished at all.

In this case, Rajawali Indonesia as the promoter has made significant progress for music concert performances in Indonesia where Indonesian musicians stand on par with international musicians.

Kahitna is not a companion performer for Boyz II Men, especially referred to as the opening act. Both are collaborators for this show, which has succeeded in sharing memories for many people through love stories coupled with rhythm and tone.
