This Is The Cost That Must Be Spent On D'Masiv For Cooperation With US Music Producers

JAKARTA - D'Masiv, who are currently departing for California, United States to appear at the 2025 Musexpo, plans to work with music producers there to work on their first international album.

Apart from appearing in the showcase, Rian (vocals) said that DMasiv will hold a business meeting with several music executives. They will have a meeting at the A&R Worldwide office and meet labels interested in their music.

"There we will know the budget. What kind of music producer is this," Rian told the media crew in Ciledug, South Jakarta recently.

Rian admitted that he had time to find out the costs needed to attract music producers who would work on their albums.

"The Grammy Awards (level) budget is between 200 and 500 thousand single-song dollars," said Rian. "Pharrell Williams is 500 thousand dollars. So around Rp. 7.5 billion. If one Republic we ask, Ryan Tedder is around 200 thousand,"

In addition, said Rian, producers who have never won a Grammy Awards are known for their good quality, having a much cheaper rate.

"Maybe around 6,000 to 10,000 US dollars. What is certain is that we will follow the direction of A&R Worldwide, who we match. His coverage is definitely not in doubt," he said.

Regarding appearances at the 2025 Musexpo, Rian (vocals), Rama (guitar), Kiki (guitar), Rai Dinata (bass), and Wahyu (drums) bands will appear and meet with record label executives, music publishers, artist managers, radio, streaming platforms, and media representatives.

"We will appear on March 16, the name of the Musexpo 2025 show," said the vocalist. "So, this event is an annual event that has been held for 25 years. This event has given birth to many world bands or musicians, such as Katy Perry, Jessie J, Coldplay The Temper Trap, and Adele."

The 38-year-old vocalist said his appearance would be a second chance for D'Masiv. They have appeared at Musexpo last year. However, he said the presence of D'Masiv in Musexpo this year would be very different. The reason is, they will perform on a better stage than last year.

"For the last year, we were just going to a showcase. At that time we were performing in extra time, so actually we only got slots at the end, so we didn't get exposure last year," he said.

"This year, thank God, because of the maximum performance last year, the A&R Worldwide finally invited DMasiv back, and we were given a slot at prime time, at 9 pm, and it has been confirmed that 250 players in the world music industry will witness it," he added.

Rian said that D'Masiv will perform five to six songs, all of which use English lyrics.

"We got the opportunity for about 25-30 minutes, so maybe 5-6 songs that we will perform, and that's all the songs in English," said Rian. One song that we have released is Side By Side, the other is an unreleased song, which we have never released at all and we have never officially recorded it, only the demo version we have just recorded.
