Neil Young Plans Free Concerts In Ukraine On A European Tour

Neil Young wants to add a new schedule for the upcoming European tour. The Canadian musician plans to hold a free show in Ukraine.

Through the Neil Young Archives website, the 79-year-old musician announced that a free concert in Ukraine will be running alongside the Love Earth Tour in Europe.

"Currently we are in talks and will announce the details at the Neil Young Archives," Young said, citing a statement on the official website, Tuesday, March 4.

"Keep on Rockin" in the FREE WORLD, he continued.

On the tour later, Young will feature his old collaborators, such asTENder Oldham (keyboards, organs), Micah Nelson from Promise of the Real (guitar, vocals), Corey McCormick (bass) and Anthony LoGerfo (drums).

Meanwhile, tour dates in Europe and North America from Neil Young and Chrome Hearts have been announced since February 24, with performances in Rhattvik, Sweden on June 18 as a start.

Although the free concert in Ukraine has not been announced, the show is expected to take place before Sweden's first appearance.

The timing of the announcement of free concerts in Ukraine is considered quite relevant, given the much support President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received after his meeting with US President Donald Trump on February 28.

The highly controversial meeting resulted in widespread criticism of Trump, and comes just days after Young highlighted the President in an upload entitled "Leader of the Free World No More".

"Under the leadership of 47, the US has lost its position," Young wrote. "Loyalists will never be stronger than Patriots, and Patriots are majority in the US. Our Patriots will take to the streets to demonstrate peacefully. There will be a moment of truth in our country and we will show the world who we really are. The US will return to being the leader of the Free World."
