Dharma Oratmangun Calls LMKN And Ahmad Dhani Communication Network To Exchange Views

JAKARTA - The National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) expressed its support for the efforts made by musicians who are currently members of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) for the period 2024-2029, especially those who are in Commission X, such as Melly Goeslaw, Ahmad Dhani, and Once Mekel.

As is known, through Melly Goeslaw's proposal, the revision of the Copyright Law is included in the 2025 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

Dharma Oratmangun as the Chair of the LMKN expressed his support for the effort. He also said that his party maintains good communication with musicians in the DPR, including Ahmad Dhani, who in recent years have often shown disappointment with LMKN and LMK.

"Thank you to my friends in the DPR. I heard that our friend Melly Goeslaw has encouraged changes to the Law on Copyright," said Dharma during a press conference at Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 14.

"And I have also met Ahmad Dhani, to communicate with each other, to provide input in the context of governance (royalti performing rights)," he continued.

Unlike what appears on social media where LMKN and Dhani are often seen as opposing camps Dharma said LMKN as an institution authorized to manage royalties, also exchanged views with Dewa's 19 frontman. 19.

"Especially regarding governance, I also discussed it with Bung Ahmad Dhani, and I think his thoughts are also good for improvements. Yes, we fill each other out," said Dharma.

"Moreover, there are our friends, Once and Melly, they are in the DPR too. We are intensely conveying input and they will bring those thoughts. Not only (input) from LMKN, but from all stakeholders," he concluded.
