JAKARTA - A guitar and bass manufacturer from the United States, Fender has surprised many people.

At the 2025 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) exhibition which was held on January 21-25 in California, United States, they presented a model produced in Indonesia.

The new model is named the 'Standard' series, which includes three electric guitars and two electric basses, namely Stratocaster, HSS Strat, Telecaster, Jazz Bass, and Precision Bass.

The Fender Standard series is proof that Indonesia has reached a good stage in producing musical instruments, especially guitar and bass.

The reason is, this Indonesian-made series is the first Fender model made outside the United States (US) and Mexico since the Modern Player series in 2011.

"This 'Seris' has been in (our) planning for several years," said Justin Nowell, Fender's Executive Vice President, citing Guitar World, Sunday, January 26.

It did not stop there, the Indonesian production series was also in the spotlight because the price was very cheap compared to other series, which was 599 US dollars or equivalent to Rp9.69 million.

"We want to make it more affordable and reach more people," added Nowell.

Previously, Nowell had talked about the quality of factories outside the US which continued to increase. With this series, Indonesian manufacturers should be seen by the world.

Not only Fender made in Indonesia who made the country proud at the prestigious musical instrument exhibition.

Two Indonesian products are also present in NAMM 2025, namely Gulatars Boutique and Genta Guitars.
