Bassist Of M\"otley Cr\"ie, Nikki Sixx Undergoes Therapy To Overcome Trauma

Bassis and co-founder of M\"otley Cr\"ie, Nikki Sixx revealed that she has undergone Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapy to treat symptoms of trauma.

Through his social media account, Sixx shared his experience of undergoing therapy as part of his resolution to start a new year.

"Many of us talk about New Year's resolutions. I like the idea of refreshing myself several times a year. I spend a lot of time in the National Park in Wyoming. That's a good start for me. One more around my birthday and then 31 December - 6 January," wrote Nikki Sixx, citing Instagram uploads, Monday, January 6th

"I am personally on a deep reflection journey at the moment and as usual it will turn into something. A lyric, a book, a song. I have also done EMDR therapy. It is a golden ticket if you are ready for change. I live for change. At least evolution," he continued.

At the end of his upload, Sixx did not forget to wish his fans a happy new year.

"Do you have a new purpose or resolution you want to share with the whole class? By the way, Happy New Year."

Previously, Sixx had talked about her traumatic childhood, where her father was said to have neglected her family, even since she was three years old.

"I had a bad childhood, and I faced it every day. I spent more money on therapy than most rock stars spent on buying cars," said the bassist.

As a result of his father's behavior, his mother did not search for little Sixx, and handed it over to his grandparents.

"My heartbreaking memory was when my mother called my grandparents and said, 'Come on pick him up. I'm six years old and he said, 'I'm going to lock the door and I'll tell you on the terrace.' He can't wait for my grandparents to get there. He left with a man in the truck. It destroyed me," he said.

"In the bottom of my heart, the thing that haunts me the most and still haunts me is the feeling of being left behind by my father when I was little and my mother left, one at the age of three, one at the age of six. I can never forget it, it's a terrible feeling," he concluded.
