JAKARTA - Bring Me the Horizon (BMTH) vocalist Oli Sykes feels the band needs time off from the creative process, after this year launching the album POST HUMAN: Nex Gen in two editions, digital release on May 24 and physical release on September 27.
In a recent interview with NME, Sykes was asked about the possible release of the third edition of 'Next Gen' in the form of extended with the addition of several new songs.
Sykes says, 'Well, actually isn't there! There's a little more the story of 'Nex Gen' to tell through music. We have a lot of ideas and things that haven't been completed, and there's quite a lot there so there can be an extended version of the recording.'
Despite the new idea, Sykes doesn't want to promise new works anytime soon to fans.
"I've been trying hard for the last few years, so I'm not trying to make any promises. If that doesn't happen then it won't happen. But there's some music our fans will love and it's cool to release. It's on the list that has to be done," he said.
For what BMTH has done so far, especially in the years after the pandemic, Sykes felt the band needed to take some time off.
"We need time to recharge our batteries and have time to rest, because we haven't done it yet," said the 38-year-old vocalist.

During the pandemic, BMTH was forced to take a break, but there were still some musical activities that were still being carried out.
"I don't think this band has much rest time. It will come to a point where it starts to affect the band and its creativity," he said.
According to him, composing the album POST HUMAN: Nex Gen is also very tiring. He doesn't want all his creativity to disappear because he doesn't rest.
"Right now it's not just about music: stories and knowledge have become so integral and meaningful. If I don't stop for a moment to try and enlarge and see a bigger picture, then it will affect all that," said the vocalist.
These notes must be very clear and separate, otherwise, there is a risk of each overlapping each other. For me, Next Gen has a very different voice from Survival Horror (2020), and I want the next one to be a complete new epoch aesthetically complete, sonic, and in every way. It is important for us to let Bring Me The Horizon go for a moment.
