JAKARTA - Taylor Swift released her latest album, Fearless (Taylor's Version) on April 9 as a first step in claiming ownership of her first six albums released from 2006 to Reputation in 2017.

In an interview with People, Swift explained how she re-recorded the Fearless album.

"Regarding the production, I want to say I am very loyal to the original tone that I thought of for these songs. So we tried and made the 'same but better' version", she said.

Taylor Swift heard all the songs on Fearless repeatedly and studied each section one by one.

"I hear line after line and listen to every vowel and think what if the voice changes here. If I can fix it, I do. But I really want this to match what I think and what I write. But it's better".

Swift teamed up with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner who co-worked on Folklore and Evermore. She also invited musicians participating in her original Fearless album to re-record.

This was done after Scooter Braun acquired Swift's previous record label, Big Machine Label Group including all Taylor Swift's song masters. Braun also sold her master to Shamrock Holdings without the original singer's consent.

In November 2020, Swift was allowed to record her old release. Swift currently resides with Republic Records and Universal Music Group. The album Fearless (Taylor's Version) can be listened to physically and streaming.
