The sixth edition of the Dangdut Song Creation Competition (LCLD) was launched again by the Indonesian Dangdut Music Artist Association (PAMDI) on Wednesday, December 11.
LCLD is still consistent with its goal of becoming a place for young talents and talented songwriters to compete to create the best dangdut works, in order to bring dangdut music to a higher level.
Indonesian music legend, Rhoma Irama who is also the General Chair of PAMDI said, LCLD is an important platform to find dangdut songwriters who have the potential to inspire and enliven the country's dangdut music industry.
"We hope that, through this competition, new works will be born that not only echo in Indonesia, but can also be worldwide," said Rhoma Irama.
Meanwhile, Waskito as Secretary General of PAMDI added that LCLD is one way to promote dangdut music to gain recognition as UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Waskito believes that dangdut which was born and became Indonesian culture is time to be recognized by the world. I believe, the support of the Indonesian people to make dangdut a very large Intangible Cultural heritage. LCLD is one way to strengthen this effort.
Furthermore, the sixth edition of the LCLD will bring a more interesting and innovative concept to enliven the competition journey. This event is open to the entire general public, songwriters, musicians, and dangdut singers who want to show their best work in public.
