SMVLL Introduces Single Secangkir Kopi as a Hangout Song

JAKARTA - Deka Algazmi, better known by his stage name SMVLL, introduces his latest single titled "Secangkir Kopi". This song is his third release in 2024, after "Sebat Aja Dulu" and "Bidadari Senja".

If "Bidadari Senja" was inspired by his wife, Deka, who is also the songwriter for "Secangkir Kopi", took inspiration from his friends.

Through his new song, Deka describes his longing for togetherness with his friends and the friendly atmosphere that existed when they gathered as teenagers.

Deka admitted that there were beautiful memories and longing for his teenage years when he wrote the song "Secangkir Kopi". The reason is that after growing up, everything changed, busy with their respective lives.

"The creation of 'Secangkir Kopi' was initially because I missed my teenage years when I hung out with friends. And now, they are getting more mature and more realistic with life, there are friends who have migrated, some are still unemployed, some have difficulty hanging out again after getting married, some are in the TNI, some are chefs, basically they are separated," said SMVLL in his statement, Tuesday, December 10.

"While in the past I still remember someone saying that if we are a group, we have a dream, whatever happens, we must be able to gather. One of my friends even said that when we grow up, we will all be fathers, we will create a village filled with just us and gather in the same security post," he added.

Deka and his teenage friends have beautiful dreams, but they admit that everything must go on, everyone lives a different life.

"But the further we go, the further away the hope of realizing it all is, because the circumstances require us all to be apart," he said.

Deka said that “Secangkir Kopi” is a hangout song for every friendship that has a similar story. Not only for himself, he wants his new song to resonate with many people.

“I hope this song can relate to us who are getting older and far from our old friends. Hopefully this song can represent those feelings,” he concluded.
