JAKARTA - The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, also highlighted the transformation experienced by the Indonesian music industry which has shifted to the digital era.
Fadli said, the impact of digitalization has made revenue in this sector so great.
"The digital music streaming sector even contributed 90.6% of the total music revenue in Indonesia in 2022," said Fadli Zon during a press conference ahead of the AMI Awards peak night celebration at the Ministry of Culture, Central Jakarta, Monday, December 2.
This, said Fadli, not only changes the way people enjoy music, but also opens new opportunities for young musicians from various parts of the archipelago.
"This change is a way for the birth of new names who are now able to compete at the national and international levels," he added.
Furthermore, Fadli also invited all parties to continue collaborating in order to advance Indonesian music together.
According to him, music as a cultural product has a strength that can be useful for a nation and a country.
"Let's make Indonesian music an inspiration, driving, unity, and cultural power that makes our nation proud on the world stage," he said again.
Fadli also fully supports the holding of the 27th AMI Awards summit night which will be held at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta on Wednesday, December 4.
"For 27 years, the AMI Awards have been the highest respect to Indonesian musicians who continue to contribute to the Indonesian music industry. This event has also consistently built an inclusive music ecosystem, explored the best potential of the nation's children, and carved out cultural identities through their works," he said.
