Towards The Age Of 2 Decades, DRIVE Releases Dilemmatika As The Most Popular Work

JAKARTA - DRIVE celebrated their 19th anniversary on Tuesday, November 25 yesterday. Continuing to be motivated to move forward, they celebrate the anniversary with a musical work.

The latest single was released with the title 'Dilematika', which is the bridge leading to the release of their latest album. The plan, the seventh studio album will be titled One 7', and will be released next month.

Dilematika itself is unique, when compared to previous DRIVE songs. Created by bassist and one of the longest personnel at DRIVE, Dygo Pratama, apparently some of the notations are obtained from dreams. Especially in the reffrain or chorus section.

The process of making it was a bit unique throughout my experience writing songs for Drive. Inspired by dreams, "said Dygo.

"How come the tone is good, huh?' He recalls. Without thinking, he immediately locked it up and recorded the tone on his cellphone, then went back to sleep.

At first the song was titled In Dreams', which was forgotten and stored for a long time. About six months, before being 'discovered' Dygo returned while working on the seventh album DRIVE. Long story short, the notation was then developed, and used as a complete song with the title Dilematika.

In terms of lyrics Dygo tries to express an unusual perspective. He wrote the lyrics when he read the news about domestic violence he reads.

The victims of violence are said to really love the perpetrator even though they have received very unpleasant treatment. But in the song 'Dilematika', Dygo made the point of view of the lyrics of the perpetrator of violence.

The one who sings this song is the perpetrator, like, 'Udah, you just leave me alone. I'm wrong, I'm bad!' But the victim still touched, he didn't want to leave, really love and didn't want to let go of his partner. After the song was finished, the title was changed to Dilematika, which means bimbang

In broadcasting the song, guitarist Budi Bhusdeq Rahardjo who executed him emphasized that as much as possible he packed according to the mood and the storyline of the song himself. Opened with a clear bass rhythm, then continued with a typical 80s ballad tap. Dilematika is also the closing song on the seventh album DRIVE.
