Ello, Eno NTRL To Yuke Dewa 19 Make A New Superband With Two Drummers

JAKARTA - Musicians have their own way of having fun and exploring musicality, including by creating side projects. Try to unite energy, these musicians also agreed to create a superband.

Having the same vision and mission, the band consisting of Marcello Tahitoe, Yuke Sampurna (Basis DEWA), Eno Guitara (Drummer NTRL), Stevi Item (Gitaris ANDRA N THE BACKBONE), Magi Trisnandi (Drummer /RIF) and Reno Fahreza (Band Nevach) agreed to belong to the group LOH KOK TUM BAND.

"Ide's name was taken from a comment from Ello in a photo post on Instagram when we performed together. There he wrote 'Loh Kok Tum Band', we think it's also fun using that name to create a project for this band', explained Yuke about the origin of this band's name through a written broadcast.

Yuke Sampurna became the originator of the idea that invited the 5 fellow musicians in November 2023 to form a band that performed Brit Pop, Rock and Alternative songs. The main goal of this band is to invite listeners to reminisce with the 1990s-2000s songs they performed.

At first, it wasn't because of a band, because there was a healing program with the artist. Yuke invited these 5 personnel to join the program. On his way during the program promo, there was a gig offer at one of the venues in Bali, finally the job was turned on, so all of them were refreshing from our main band routine. It turned out that all the personnel had a good response from the audience, plus we got a good response from the audience. What we initially made this band was just for fun, God's praise turned out to last until now, "said Ello.

We want to revive the musical romanticism in the 1990s-2000s. There are still many fans of Pop, New Wave, Alternative and Rock music in that era. It is evident that they still always sing along while listening to the songs sung on stage. We as musicians miss the musical atmosphere of that era. So we decided to perform hits from Oasis, Bon Jovi, The Cure, Duran Duran, Radio Head and others, Yuke said.

For the schedule setting of each personnel, it seems that it has been arranged as well as possible with the managers of each personnel. Their commitment to move forward continues to music together is getting serious. Including the division of roles in this band, which we both know the presence of two drummers, namely Magi and Eno.

"I'm actually more filling in vocals here. The main drummer in this band is Eno. Even though I don't rule out certain songs, I also play drums. Just change it with Eno, or we can also play drums together," said Magi.

Ello mengungkapkan bahwa keinginan para personel yang sepakat ingin memiliki konsep giga yang lebih dekat dengan para penggemarnya atau penontonnya. Hal ini mungkin sulit mereka lakukan saat mereka bersama dengan band utama mereka.

"The point here is that we want to be more interactive both on stage and on stage. We want to be more alone with our audiences, so we don't just appear and then go backstage or go home. It can be extra entertaining and blend with the audience, or maybe we will enjoy other performers together with the audience. Such excitement that we have wanted to do for a long time, "said Ello.

In the future, the 'Loh Kok Tum Band' is already planning a gig tour in 5 cities in Indonesia. And in the near future, this band will make their own work, as they hope to become a band that continues to develop in various music genres.
