Kris Kristofferson Dies At 88 Years Old, Barbra Streisand To Dolly Parton Gives Tribute

JAKARTA - Kris Kristofferson, a United States country singer who is also an actor, died on Saturday, September 28. He breathed his last in Hawaii, at the age of 88.

"It is with a heavy heart that we convey the news that our husband/father/father, Kris Kristofferson, died peacefully on Saturday, September 28 at home," said a family representative, citing PEOPLE, Monday, September 30.

"We are all very blessed for the time we spent with him. Thank you for loving him for all these years, and when you look at the rainbow, know that he is smiling at all of us."

Kris's departure is a deep sorrow for many people, including fellow musicians who he has known so far. They gave an award (tribute) for the singer of Me And Bobby....

Barbra Streisand, a singer who became Kris's co-star in the film A Star Is Born (1976), via Instagram said the deceased was a special and charming figure.

For my last concert in 2019 at Hyde Park, London, I asked Kris to join me on stage to sing our duet at A Star Is Born, "said Barbra.

"He remained charming as usual, and the audience showered him with applause. It was great to see him accept the recognition and love he really deserved."

Country music legend Dolly Parton also made a tribute to Kris. They are known to be close, with some duet works, such as 'From Here to the Moon and Back' and 'Put It Off Until Tomorrow'.

"It's a big loss. Great writer. Great actor. Great friend. I will always love you, "wrote Dolly Parton.

Not only Barbra Streisand and Dolly Parton, country musicians such as Reba McEntire, Eric Church, Travis Tritt, and Diane Warren also missed Kris Kristofferson's departure.
