Wijaya80, Exploration Ardhito Pramono Creates An 80s Concept Band

JAKARTA - Singer and songwriter, Ardhito Pramono, has several times declared himself as an old music connoisseur, especially in the 80s era. For him, that era was the golden age of Indonesian music and its musicians.

Due to the unavoidable charm of 80 musicals, Ardhito initiated a new band with the concept of 80s named Wijaya80.

Wijaya80 involved two musicians who had worked on production with Ardhito several times. They are Hezky Joe on vocals and guitars, and Erikson Jayanto on the keyboard.

Starting his journey on the music scene, Wijaya80 released his first single entitled "Seharus Aku". In an interview with Soleh Solihun, Ardhito et al explained that this song was inspired by admiration for women with 'bondol hair'.

This vintage concept is not only stated in composition and sound, but also in the concept of clothing to artwork. In their debut single, they present the figure of Niken Anjani as their artwork model.

Looking forward, it was also revealed that Wijaya80 was preparing EP with several recorded songs. The references are not far from Indonesian musicians in the 80s, such as Fariz RM to Chandra Darusman.
