'Emergency Warning' Colors GIGIInfinity's 30th Anniversary Concert

JAKARTA - The band GIGI held a concert to celebrate 30 years of work with the title GIGIInfinity which was held at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta on Saturday, August 24 night.

The show, which was held for more than three hours, began with an Emergency Warning', a movement that began on social media as a form of protest against the House of Representatives (DPR) who ignored the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the conditions for nominating the Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

Before GiGI appeared to perform the opening repertoire, a screen that covered the stage, suddenly raised the Garuda Pancasila symbol with a blue background with the caption Emergency Warning.

Without the slightest explanation, the long applause ended the reflective moment. After just a few seconds, GIGI immediately brought the first repertoire entitled F.T.E of TM, one of the songs from the album All Ages which was released in 2001.

Without talking much, Armand Maulana immediately led the band to continue the show with the 'Leader' repertoire, the main soundtrack for the film of the same name directed by Riri Riza in 2009.

More than 30 songs were performed last night, both repertoires that are well known to the public such as Naughty', Ifai, and 11 January, to repertoires that have never been performed on the previous stage such as Basa-Basi.

The celebration concert for the 30 years of GIGI's work is also the night of a full star show. They collaborated with Afgan, Ariel (NOAH vocalist), Fanny Soegi, HIVI!, Kris Dayanti, Mahalini, and Bronze who attended as guest performers.

The journey of GIGI as a band began in 1994 by releasing his debut album titled 'Angan'. At that time the band consisted of Armand Maulana (vocals), Dewa Budjana (guitar), Aria Baron (guitar), Thomas Ramdhan (bass), and Ronald Fristianto (drums).

During his 30 years of travel, GIGI has released no less than 13 studio albums along with several other albums. Hundreds of works have been produced, with dozens of songs still attached to the ears of Indonesian music lovers.
