Promotor Forever Young Festival And Playground Festival Allegedly 'Tilep' Funds Of IDR 6.3 Billion

JAKARTA - The Forever Young Festival and Playground Festival which were held at Bali had to be postponed due to the indiscriminateness of the promoter, as revealed by Megatix Indonesia (ticket sales platform) and the Locca Sea House (concery venue).

In a joint public statement, Megatix Indonesia and Locca Sea House said Thomas Alfa Bernard of Thom Entertainment as the promoter was unknown after it was revealed that Ice Cube as a performer prepared for the Playground Festival had never confirmed.

"After being contacted by the Ice Cube management team, we learned that they were not aware of the schedule for the show and asked us to immediately remove all pages featuring the Ice Cube brand," read a statement posted on the Megatix Indonesia website, Thursday, August 15.

It was also revealed that Thomas was suspected of having abused funds, resulting in a bad impact on many parties.

We have revealed that Thomas has failed to pay or has abused nearly $400,000 (Rp6.3 billion) of funds, which not only affected these events but also various other parties, including the venue, artist, travel agent, staff themselves, and even his own church.

For the two postponements of the music festival, it was stated that Thomas was the person who should be responsible for what had happened.

"Thomas is a presenter and vendor for these events. And according to the agreement, it is fully responsible for all finances. And in the event situation it is not finished, (Thomas) is responsible for all refunds," reads the official statement.

"With Thom gone and unable to be reached, this creates a challenging situation for all parties involved. Together, Megatix, Locca Sea House, and all other affected parties actively cooperate with the relevant authorities, and the legal process has begun to ensure Thom is responsible for the responsibilities that have been mandated to him."

Meanwhile, ticket sales on the Megatix site can no longer be done for the Forever Young Festival and the Playground Festival. There is information that the two festivals were postponed.
