Flea Calls Paul McCartney The Greatest Bass Rock Player

JAKARTA - Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea mentioned Paul McCartney's name when asked his opinion about the best rock bassist ever.

The man whose real name is Michael Peter Balzary, McCartney is a bassist who has extraordinary musicality. It can be seen from his game at The Beatles.

I think Paul is the greatest rock bass player. He's great. Show me, there are so many great people in various ways, but Paul's bass playing is very liquefied and melodic, and very beautiful," Flea said as a guest on the recent podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name.

One of the things that caught him was that he played bass after (the composition of the song was finished). My band (RHCP), sometimes the song starts with the bassline," he continued.

According to Fate, when Beatles personnel composed the song, McCartney made his bass melody.

Like the song 'Sgt. Pepper', the melody is already there. So he plays it like a counter melodic (contrapung), "said Flea.
