Spotify Reveals Pesat Musisi Indonesia's Development In The Global Music Candidate

JAKARTA - Spotify in its annual report, Loud & Clear, revealed how the rapid development experienced by Indonesian musicians in the digital era through digital streaming service platforms.

"Slowing has consistently encouraged transformation in the music industry. Loud & Clear provides new insights for artists, industry, and fans around the world about what Spotify is observing based on its data, providing clarity on its music streaming and economy," said Kossy Ng, Head of Music Spotify Southeast Asia at a press conference in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta on Wednesday, July 17.

The latest report by Loud & Clear reveals the growth of Indonesian musicians on Spotify in 2023. Indonesian musicians were discovered by listeners more than 5.1 billion times, with more than 3,600 musicians added to the editorial playlist.

This has a significant impact. The visibility of the musicians is increasing and they can reach the listeners further.

The data is agreed by Baskara Putra, who is better known as the Indies. The singer of Besides Life Will End admits that it is easy to introduce his works to other countries.

"Streaming provides artists like me with a direct opportunity to reach listeners around the world. The information provided by Spotify through the Loud & Clear report is very useful, showing the real impact of our music on a global scale," said the Indies.

The East Indies said that the data showing the development of Indonesian musicians made him as songwriters even more motivated to continue working. He saw the potential of Indonesian music to connect music lovers both at home and abroad.

Furthermore, data from Spotify in 2023 also shows that two-thirds of the royalties generated by Indonesian musicians come from listeners abroad.

In addition, artists who perform songs in Indonesian, collectively experience royalty growth of 521 percent since 2018. This reflects the increasing global appreciation for Indonesian-language music.

"The growth of Indonesian artists is extraordinary, and we believe there will be more that will make a breakthrough in the future, as our findings show. Spotify has and will continue to expand Indonesia's musical reach to the global audience by supporting local artists at every stage of their career," concluded Kossy.
