Musicians move to support children in Palestine (Doc. Java)

JAKARTA - Genocide and oppression that occurred in Gaza's land, Palestine claimed the children's cheerful smiles and laughter there. Never mind playing or enjoying music cheerfully, their daily safety continues to be a bet.

There is no longer a musical function that can lighten the days of children if we continue to let Palestinian children become victims of genocide that occurs there. Through community support and jazz activists in Indonesia, this anxiety encourages them to do good through the Jazz in Unity movement.

Spirit jazz lights up in Jazz in Unity to show its concern for the conditions that befell children in Palestine. A series of Indonesian musicians such as Armiya Husein, Bella Fawzi, Chiki Fawzi, Dara Swandana, Dira Sugandi, Eka Annash, Elfa Zulham, Fia, Jamie Aditya, Kevin Yosua, Kojek Rap Betawi, Sri Hanuraga are united for a noble mission.

In addition, there is also a poetry reading from Rebecca Kezia, and Yudi Ahmad Tajudin will appear at the night of the charity concert. Located at a jazz club called 1920 lounge in Kemang, Jakarta, last night (14/6).

In this event, Yudi Ahmad Tajudin and Rebecca Kezia also presented a musicalization of poetry. They are accompanied by a syahdu and slick musical composition with Sri Hanuraga, Elfa Zulham, and Kevin Yosua.

This 'Jazz in Unity' was sparked by my personal unrest which turned out to be a collective concern for jazz activists and activists in Indonesia. Starting from a story on Instagram to invite to hold a charity concert for children affected by oppression in Palestine, organically accumulating several musicians, venue owners, show directors, photographers, videographers, streaming partners, crews, crowdfunding partners, auditors, and health institutions that will distribute donations, said Jazz in Unity initiator Bagas Whyatmono in a written broadcast received by VOI.

"If other genre music there may be songs about Palestine and resistance, but if jazz is born from slavery and resistance. So the music is already and must make people happy," said Jamie, who looked so emotional that he often shed tears when he told about the conditions experienced by Palestinian children.

This charity movement and concert, which was prepared in just 14 days, continued Bagas, is expected to pay considerable attention to what is happening in Palestine and can be transmitted to similar communities in other regions or countries.
