Melitha Sidabutar Music Travel, From Indonesian Idol To AMI Awards

JAKARTA - Melitha Sidabutar first appeared to the public as a singer while participating in the Indonesian Idol audition with her twin, Melisha Sidabutar, in 2020.

Melitha, who was 19 years old, performed a song from Once Mekel entitled Dealova. Unfortunately, he failed to amaze the jury, and his trip in Indonesian Idol was stopped.

However, his musical journey did not stop. Melitha Sidabutar joined the spiritual music label, Impact Music Indonesia. He released his debut single titled Helper Yang Setia on December 23, 2020, two weeks after Melisha's death.

Melitha chose to focus as a Christian spiritual singer. Consistently, he continues to release new songs with his new label.

Melitha's musical journey bore fruit. He won his first victory at the Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards in November 2023. Through a song entitled Quoting Gratitude, he won in the Production Category for the song Berlirik Spiritual Christians.

Through an Instagram upload, Melitha talked about how to summarize her musical journey. He also mentioned Melisha's departure which had made her slump.

It's been almost 3 years since my first song. At the end of 2020, it feels like I have lost hope, the future, lost my other half, so I can't say thank you at all. But because of His kindness, and His Award, to this day He has made me able to stay alive and even work," said Melitha Sidabutar.

"It's easy that everything is starting to make sense and very beautiful, even though the process is so long. Everything that leads me to this moment, the first AMI Awards (and I believe it won't stop until the first), everything is purely because of the kindness and perfect love of the Lord Jesus," he continued.

SAYANGNYA, Melitha tidak lagi bisa melanjutkan keinginan untuk terus berkarya. Namun begitu, karya-karya yang pernah dinyanyikan akan terus terkenalkan.
