Farhan Zubedi, A Doctor Who Debuts Music Through Single ''Hil Art'

JAKARTA - The Indonesian pop music scene has a new singer. Carried by Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia, he is Farhan Zubedi who was present with his first release entitled "Hilang Art".

"Hil Art" is an introduction to Farhan Zubedi to listeners. This 3-minute and 24-second pop ballad recorded Farhan's inner turmoil at one of the lowest points in his life.

Farhan revealed that the process of composing the song "Hilang Arti" has actually started in 2022.

"To be honest, the story behind the song 'Hil Art' is entirely inspired by my personal experience," said Farhan Zubedi. "Every human being must have been at the lowest point in their life, and I found myself at that lowest point in 2022 -- when I started writing this song 'Hilang Art'. Maybe this song can help listeners out there who have or are at the same point," said Farhan Zubedi in a written broadcast received by VOI.

Farhan realizes that the country's pop music scene is currently very competitive, therefore he has a special single debut. In addition to taking part as a songwriter, Farhan Zubedi also collaborated with TINTIN who had worked on popular works for musicians such as Rossa ("Civil Love") and Titi DJ ("Wing Wing Love"). During the recording process, Farhan Zubedi was assisted by a well-known music producer, Adrian Rahmat Purwanto.

"TINTIN and I did several workshops to ensure the quality of this song is really maximal. I also proposed that the violin instrument also accompany my vocals because I want listeners of this 'Hilang Art' song to feel the longing I feel," continued Farhan Zubedi. "As soon as I heard the final result, I immediately shed tears. I feel proud and grateful for what I, TINTIN, and Adrian created together," he explained.

Apart from his status as a newcomer to the Indonesian music industry, netizens and digital communities out there may already be very familiar with the name Farhan Zubedi. He also has a very wide digital prevalence thanks to educational content about nutrition and health. In addition, Farhan Zubedi is also a doctor who received higher education at Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. Until now, Farhan Zubedi has more than 2 million followers on TikTok.

"Although most people know me as a doctor and health influencer, actually singing has become something I have been working on since I was 3 years old," said Farhan Zubedi, who also admires pop musicians like the late Glenn Fredly and Tulus. "Indeed, it took me a long time and journey for me to finally realize my dream as a professional musician, and I feel now is indeed the right time to introduce who I am as a musician," he said.

Working with newcomer musicians is not easy for an experienced songwriter. However, TINTIN praised Farhan Zubedi's courage to bring out his fragile side in his first musical work.

"As a songwriter, Farhan Zubedi has a strong enough instinct in knitting lyrics like what is the most memorable and what kind of melody is the most pleasing to the listener," said TINTIN. "I've heard the final results of this song dozens of times and, both as a songwriter and as a listener, I'm very satisfied."
