JAKARTA - Jakarta Concert Orchestra (JCO) has returned to success with the An Anime Orchestra: Overdrive event which was held at the JIExpo Convention Center & Theater, Central Jakarta on Saturday, February 3.
The concert, which was held twice and attended by 4,900 spectators, also featured performances from Batavia Madrigal Singers (BMS), The Resonanz Children's Choir (TRCC) and TRC Serunai.
When compared to An Anime Symphony's concert which was held at the Jakarta Theater Building, Taman Ismail Marzuki on December 9, 2023, this concert is clearly greater with the number of spectators who have doubled.
A total of 21 songs from famous anime are displayed at each concert, such as Doraemon, Detective Conan, Naruto: Shippuden, Attack on Titan, Digimon Adventure, Kimi no Na Wa, and many others.
Meanwhile, JCO opened a concert by performing Detective Conan Main Theme, and then followed by an appearance from TRC Serunai, a 4-7-year-old children's choir that performed the soundtrack of Doraemon.
The show became even more lively when the audience sang with four singers from Batavia Madrigal Singers on the song Hikaru Nara from the Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso anime. In addition, soloist Stefani Yang also performed Blue Bird from the anime Naruto: Shippuden.

TRC, a choir of children aged 8 - 17 years, also appeared to entertain the audience with a cheerful appearance when performing the Renai Circulation song from the anime Bakemonogatari, and Kawaikute Gomen from the anime Conference Executive Committee.
In his final appearance, JCO together with all the performers who were members of this concert gave a surprise to the audience by performing the song Butter-Fly from Digimon Adventure andaire from Kimi no Na Wa's anime.
Similar to the first event in December 2023, An Anime Symphony became a classic concert that was different from the audience who came wearing various interesting cosplay costumes.
Avip Priatna as Music Director of The Resonanz Music Studio as well as conductor also appeared in a cosplay costume that changed according to the anime song performed.
We are very grateful for the great enthusiasm of the audience who witnessed our performance. Our musicians are very excited to perform song after song accompanied by songs from the audience," said Avip Priatna after the concert.
We will continue to be creative in presenting orchestral concerts with various arrangements that suit various audiences. The hope is that this orchestral music will be more widely accepted in the wider audience segment.
