Due To Elections, The Virgin Postpones Release Of Anniversary 15-Year Celebration Album

JAKARTA - The duo of The Virgin recently released a new single entitled Cinta Banned 2. Previously they intended to continue releasing the album in January to celebrate 15 years of anniversary, but had to be postponed due to the 2024 election period.

Mita admitted that she was also involved in the current political campaign. He also did not want his focus to be divided, so the release of the album was less than optimal.

"Actually, this January we released an album, but it's still a campaign period, so we can't do anything. Because we are also involved in the campaign. So we don't want the moment to lose, so we break the label to be released after the campaign ends," said Mita in Senayan, Central Jakarta last week.

"Because nowadays, when we talk about buzzers, there are so many people who accuse all kinds of things, right. So we don't want to lose the same moment as the election," he continued.

Dara said there will be nine or ten songs in the new album later, some of which are old songs that are arranged again.

The Sundanese vocalist also called the involvement of one of the senior singers a surprise on his latest album.

"There will also be a surprise on our album, because there is an old singer who you must know very well who he is," said Dara.

Reflecting on The Virgin's 15-year togetherness, Dara and Mita agree that what they've been through so far is not easy.

"It's very rare for the duo that we have been. It's not normal or anything, it's proven that now we are still durable, there are still a lot of support, thank you very much," said Dara.
