JAKARTA - The background of a songwriter certainly greatly affects the works produced. The perspective on something is different from one musician to another.

Mezzaluna, who has so far released more works that come from personal experiences, hopes to write songs that raise social issues in the future.

Meanwhile, five songs released by Mezzaluna so far, were actually written when she was still in high school. But at this time, Bimbim Slank's first daughter has changed after completing her anthropological and political studies in England, at least her perspective.

"Maybe it's more open, yes, surely everyone is different, their interests are different, and they have to try to find a middle way there," said Mezzaluna about changing their perspective after completing a study in England, when met in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta some time ago.

"It's like anthropology is about culture, so there's a lot to learn about each other's people and culture. So more thoughts have been formed that I never thought about before. So, in making music, the lyrics that used to be about personal experience are only open to create or compose songs in other ways," he continued.

Mezzaluna hopes to write songs that raise social issues, similar to what Slank did. He even admitted that he often exchanged ideas with his father.

He didn't want his work to only have an impact on himself, he wanted his work and what he did could be a social movement towards a better change.

"If there are a lot of social issues, you can think about it yourself. But often it's like wanting to make a movement or change. I think it's my opinion that connects the most with my father about that," he said.

With studies and internships that ended in December 2023, Mezzaluna hopes that her music career will continue. If because of his study he had to turn down a gig offer, he hopes a similar offer will come in 2024.

"God willing (there will be more gigs). At that time, I was busy because I had just finished an internship," concluded Mezzaluna.
