JAKARTA - Ari Bias has again spoken about the violation of economic rights for songwriters. He said that the recent commotion in the Indonesian music scene stemmed from the management of concert royalties that were not going well.

"Failured governance of concert royalties, the cause of all the noise in the music world in Indonesia," wrote Ari Bias in a description of Instagram's upload, Thursday, January 4.

Ari said there was injustice for songwriters when the songs were performed in a concert. When many parties, ranging from singers, crew, to security workers get paid directly, songwriters have to wait longer.

"PAPPRI asks all concert organizers (event organizers) to pay royalties for each concert through the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) with the consequences of criminal sanctions and fines as referred to in Article 113 UUHC if no payment is made," reads PAPPRI's statement quoted by Ari Bias.

For information, Ari Bias is one of the songwriters whose songs were performed by Agnez Mo, Kris Dayanti, Reza Artamevia, and many other singers.

Lately, his name has been talked about a lot because he forbade Agnez Mo to perform the songs he wrote. The reason is, Ari Bias felt that he had never received royalties when the song was performed at a concert.
