Pepita Sings 5 Famous Anime Songs With Jakarta Concert Orchestra

Pepita will appear at the An Anime Symphony concert (Ivan Two Men/VOI)

Pepita became one of the performers at the An Anime Symphony concert held by the Jakarta Concert Orchestra (JCO) at the Jakarta Theater Building, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta on Saturday, December 9.

The singer who studies vocals at the New England Conservatory of Music, United States will appear in five repertoires.

"So there are some songs that I sing myself, some are duets, some are with comor and other soloists. Only those I sing myself have songs from Princess Mononoke, Sailor Moon, and Attack on Titan," said Pepita when met at Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 7th.

There will also be fun and the song Digimon. Everything seems complete. The popular anime song is all sung at this concert," he continued.

Although the classic music stage is not something foreign, Pepita admits that it is quite difficult to prepare for his appearance this time. The reason is, for the first time for him to sing Japanese songs.

In many concerts that have been undertaken, most of the songs sung by Pepita are English, French, Italian, and German.

"It's fun, but I really find it difficult to memorize the Japanese lyrics. I don't know why, I think because the ethnicity is simple but long, so I like to go back to it," he said.

In addition, Pepita also claimed to have learned every anime and meaning of every song performed. He wants his understanding of the complete song, so he can perform optimally.

"Anyway, every time I appear, I definitely research the background of the song too, so that I can bring the song to a better understanding," said Pepita.

Seeing tickets sold out in a relatively short time, Pepita also praised the concept offered by Avip Priatna as Director of Music and Conductor of Jakarta Concert Orchestra. He is delighted to be back working together.

"I'm surprised but really happy, because this is a show with JCO. Kak Avip is very smart in organizing a concert. This is not my first concert with them, I've had several times before, one of which is Disney Concert," concluded Pepita.
