The Rain Celebrates 23 Years Of Music Travel With Intimate Concerts

JAKARTA - The Rain has just celebrated the 23rd anniversary of its career in the music scene. Starting the journey in early 2000 through a band called No Rain, they are able to maintain their integrity and existence to date.

23 years later, The Rain has collected seven studio albums. Through the era of tape cassettes, compact discs, ring back tones, to the present era which is filled with various streaming music services. The Rain's works have succeeded across generations. Throughout 2024, in one of the most popular streaming music services, The Rain has recorded more than 10 million listeners.

Trained Patah Hati, one of The Rain's most popular hits, got more than 48 million views on YouTube, followed by Fail to Hide who got more than 29 million views.

Most recently, Indra et al held a concert titled SE23NADE AKHIR TAHUN, as a marker of the 23 years of The Rain's work. Opened with appearances from Manipol and Private Number, two bands under Heavy Rain Records, The Rain's independent label.

At this concert which was held with the concept of intimate, The Rain performed 23 song titles consisting of a collection of hits from their albums that have been released, and inserted new songs that have never been released and performed before. From old hits such as Listen Bisikku which was taken from the first album The Rain in 2003, to The Rain's newest single this year, Perihal Kepasaan, successfully played.

For this concert, The Rain brought two additional keyboardists to meet the needs of a special arrangement. Held on Wednesday night, December 18, 2024 at Bajawa Flores NTT Coffee, Tebet, South Jakarta. This concert is filled by The Rain Keepers, as fans of The Rain, from within and outside the city.

Throughout the show, there was a sing along audience in every song performed. On the sidelines of the song, Indra Prasta seems to often interact with the audience and tell stories about the songs performed. In the middle of the show, The Rain received a surprise from representatives of The Rain Keepers who went up to the stage to give cakes and flowers.

It's a small celebration in the context of the 23rd Anniversary of The Rain. It's been a long time since we haven't made Intimate Gig at the end of the year. Since 2018, every year we've always tried to make small concerts or events for friends of The Rain Keepers and all connoisseurs of The Rain's songs. Finally, we made it at the end of 2021, so it's been 3 years out. Hopefully this event can be a little cure for longing for all of you who attend tonight," said Indra Prasta in a written broadcast received by VOI, December 19.

In addition to watching The Rain concerts, visitors can also collect limited merchandise only for the concert. A warm concert at the end of the year.
