Shed Seven Launches An Anti-Love New Song That Is Developed By Comedy Elements

JAKARTA - Alternative rock unit, Shed Seven shared the latest single Talk of the Town from their upcoming full album A Matter Of Time.

Talk of the Town marks the fifth song to be released from the band's sixth album, which is scheduled to attend January 5.

This song follows up on California Kissing, F:K:H, and In Ecstasy featuring Happy Mondays singer, Rowetta.

In terms of lyrics, Talk of the Town discusses a relationship where the two people who formed the couple are very contradictory.

Speaking of the song in a press release, Shed Seven vocalist Rick Witter said Talk of the Town was a classic Shed Seven song.

"The roaring guitar sounds mix with a solid rhythm while the refractive part is made for arenas and stadiums," Witter said.

"Algorithmically, this is an anti-love song but with a comedy side, especially with rows like, 'If I was chosen you'd turn in your grave, if I stood still you'd started a Mexican wave'. The essence of the song is not really facing each other but it is still a topic of conversation in the city. This has the potential to be a fan favorite and become a mainstay of Shed Seven in the next set," he continued.

Elsewhere in the upcoming album, Witter managed to invite Pete Doherty to participate in the album's closing song, Throwways after he caught the frontman of The Libertines singing with their song on the stage on Bingley Weekend last year.

We played just before The Libertines on the main stage and as we set us up, I looked to the side of the stage and found that Peter was standing there with my family watching the concert and he sang every word, Witter told NME in a recent interview.

"So after we finished our concert, I approached and he told me that in the 90s before Libertines he would sit in bed with his guitar and learn Shed Seven songs, which I thought were pretty cool. I said, 'Look, we have this song, we have a few more guests on our album, we'd better throw a boat here, would you like to jump there?' And he said, 'I'll definitely love it'."

In other news, Shed Seven will appear as opening supporters for Blossoms at their large outdoor concert at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester next summer.
