JAKARTA - Satrio Yudi Wahono, better known as Piyu, as the General Chair of the All-Indonesian Composter Association (AKSI) expressed his dissatisfaction with the music royalties system in Indonesia.

According to Piyu, the Collective Management Institute (LMK) which is tasked with collecting and distributing royalties has not carried out its work properly.

He gave an example from himself. Piyu admitted that she only got Rp. 300 thousand from her music concert for a year.

"I myself only got Rp. 300 thousand, even though the Padi concert was at least 3 times a week, a month it was 12 times," said Piyu, quoted from TVOne on Tuesday, August 5.

For him, the nominal obtained does not make sense. He said there was no transparency from the LMK, so he had to fight with other songwriters through ACTION.

"We just calculate that kindergarten children will know, a month there are 13 shows, the royalty period is Rp. 300 thousand a year. So, what is the basis for the calculation?" said Piyu.

"They (LMK) are not transparent. This is, we want to try rolling out, we will voice it," he continued.

Piyu also shared the confession of two other songwriters who did not receive music royalties with the correct count.

He said Rieka Roslan and Dewi Lestari only received Rp140 thousand each from their songs.

"It's still really (chaotic), that's proof we got 300 thousand. Like Rieka Roslan, we only got 140 thousand," said Piyu.

"Dewi Lestari is a songwriter who everyone also knows, there are also many hits performed by Raisa and so on, only 140 thousand," he concluded.
