Kanda Brothers Releases Album, Collaborates With Iga Massardi In We Were Young's Single

JAKARTA - The band Kanda Brothers released the album Element of Life with the main single We Were Young in collaboration with musician Iga Massardi.Element of Life is a response from Aldy (vocals), Ricky (bass), Gerry (guitar) and Danna (drums) to the emotions that are symbolized into five elements, namely air, earth, fire, water and metal, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday.

Previously, Kanda Brothers had released a single Hello representing air elements offering positive and optimistic energy, as well as Goyang in collaboration with Fuji to represent a soil element so thick with sadness.

This time, We Were Young was released as a depiction of angry emotions representing the element of fire.

According to Kanda Brothers, many people are met with disappointment at themselves and lead to regret for his previous decision.

We Were Young also seemed to be a call so as not to get dragged into these feelings, because it was actually not too late to re-explor.

"If you look further, failing is just a concept that is actually not necessarily the final result. Every moment is related, every decision affects the quality of how know yourself," said Ricky.

Successful or Failed, according to them, is a small part of the process.

Iga Massardi is trusted to be a figure who can sharpen the message from the song. Known for his strength in writing critical lyrics with the band Bara Suara, Iga Massardi made Kanda Brothers interested in his point of view on many things.

“Selain semangat modernisasi lewat musiknya yang betul-betul baru untuk kami, lagu ini juga menjadi respon komunikasi kami bersama Iga terhadap berbagai gagasan tentang pemaknaan kegagalan," ujar Aldy.

We Were Young, Kanda Brothers' latest work, through the album Elements of Life which was also released simultaneously, can be enjoyed through all digital music platforms along with the video clip produced by Sakti Marendra.
