What's Love Got To With It, A Black Stone Cherry Honor For Tina Turner

JAKARTA - Kentucky rock unit, Black Stone Cherry released a cover version of Tina Turner's song What's Love Got To With It.

Tina died on May 24 after a long illness. The rock and roll queen is 83 years old.

Tina started her career by appearing with her husband as the music duo Ike & Tina Turner and became famous for songs like Proud Mary and River Deep, Mountain High.

She suffered domestic violence throughout her marriage before she left Ike in 1976 and started her solo career.

As for all the advantages of the Black Stone Cherry version of the song will be donated to the organization for awareness of domestic violence.

"About a year ago, we were in England. We were in London. We hung out at the Hard Rock Hotel doing our premiere for 'Live From The Royal Albert Hall... Y'All'. We hung out in the lobby. I walked through it. And a song was played, and John-Fred [Young, drums] looked at Ben [Wells, guitar] and Steve [Jewell Jr., bass] and he said, 'Bung, we have to make this version," Black Stone lead vocalist/guitarist Cherry, Chris Robertson explained.

Black Stone Cherry will release her eighth studio album, Screamin' At The Sky, on September 29 through Mascot Records. The work will be available in solid white black, box set of limited editions, CD, and digital.
