Release Of New Album, Sequoia Project Will Appear In Java Jazz

JAKARTA - The fusion jazz quintet, Sequoia Projects, released its first album titled Self Titled under the auspices of the SRM Bands on March 10. The album was mixed and mastered by Lafa Pratomo. Meanwhile, the cover and profile photo were carried out by Rakasyah Reza.

"A total of 9 songs on this album reflect the characteristics of each personnel who are all wrapped in pop nuances in the style of Sequoia Projects", said the drummer, Bemby Gusti in a written statement received by the editor.

For information, the band, which was formed in 1999, was previously named Sequoia, which was taken from the name of a large tree with a similar name.

Before creating their own work, they first covered the Top 40 songs in their time. They also had time to appear regularly at several cafes in Jakarta and appear on the RCTI da calm screen for the 2000 Band Stage event.

After that, when all the personnel were busy, they finally decided to pursue their respective careers and vacuum in 2003.

Then in 2021, several Sequoia personnel will return to work by making a single entitled Delight. The single, which has a city pop feel, was written by Bemby and Orliando Ichol.

It didn't stop there, they immediately followed up with two new singles, namely Destiny and Kembali Bersama which was released in 2022.

Now, the bands inhabited by Menuk Hetiasanti (vocals), Bemby Gusti (drums), Orliando Ichol (guitar), Dudi Prastowo at (bass), and Dimas Kusumo (keyboards and synthesizers), are rumored to be performing at the Java Jazz Festival in June.
