JAKARTA - In an interview with Canada's The Metal Voice, Helloween vocalist Michael Kiske was asked if he and his bandmates had started working on the material for the follow-up to their self-titled album, which was released two years ago.

"Actually, 10 days ago, or maybe a week ago, Kai [Hansen, guitar/vocals] sent me a demo of the song he was working on and I was very happy, because it wasn't what you expected; the song was a little out of style," Kiske said. "When you album saw Keeper [Of The Seven Keys: Part] I and Keeper [Of The Seven Keys: Part] I', now it's classic, but when it's released, it's very different from the Walls Ofmen album. But we have the guts to do it. And I think that's why I'm still here, because the album has an impact because it's brave enough," Kiske continued.

"What I love about Weiki [guitarist Michael Weikath] and Kai, they can't mess with themselves. They just write songs. They don't work in any other way other than just making songs, and whatever it is, that's how it is. And the song looks a bit like Queen. The song has a lot of piano parts in it very opera, with the choir."

Kiske, who has returned since the Rok United formation in 2016, added that the song is kind of like Kai Hansen that he really likes. For that, Kiske hopes that other personnel will also have the guts to execute this song.

Asked if he would donate a music idea to his next Helloween album, as he didn't write anything on his previous album, Helloween, this is Kiske's answer.

"I don't know. I wasn't a metal songwriter like I used to be when I was a teenager. But lately I haven't written metal songs; I'm just writing songs with acoustic guitar somehow. And if I have something where I feel this band can make Helloween songs, of course I will give it to them," he explained.

"But we have so many songwriters in this band right now. And they are all really capable of writing the material everyone likes, and that's especially Andi [Deris, vocals], Sascha [Gerstner, guitar], Weiki and Hansen. And I think that's more than enough. If I had the idea, I sneaked in. But I'm not pushing too much."
