Saleh Husein's Story About White Shoes & The Couples Company's Appearance In Africa

JAKARTA - In an interview with Daniel Mardhany on YouTube Rocknation some time ago, Saleh Husein conveyed his attack on his experience when the White Shoes & The Couples Company appeared in an area on the African continent.

Saleh Husein explained that they appeared on one of the colony islands from France, Reunion Island.

"At that time, we went to South Africa a little time, we came to Mauritius to play, but on Reunion Island. Obviously, if Mauritius is a British guide, now if Reunion Island is a French guide. If Mauritius is already independent. Well, if the Reunion Island is still not independent, then you could say I played in the colony. So if you want to go to Reunion Island, you have to go to France, "said Saleh Husein, guitarist of White Shoes & The Couples Company.

"I also don't know where the connection came from, maybe from the many festival directors who are gathering with bands that are roaming the festival. Second, I think it's also because White Shoes is in the Minty Fresh America label, and that's the distribution of worldwide," he continued.

According to Saleh Husein, the experience of appearing in the area is one of the fun things.

"It's really fun, if I look at it like this, they like to watch a new band. On the other hand, I'm the one who appears in front of the new audience and I'm also happy. Well, actually that's what happened. The audience doesn't know our songs but they still dance like that. After performing, we made meet and greet, there were a lot of people in line," he added.

"Besides us, there are also bands from Jamaica, France, Australia, and others. Their music also varies," he explained.

Not only that, Saleh Husein also said, White Shoes & The Couples Compay had re-recorded the song Lembe-Lembe in Mauritius.

"Then we had time to re-record one of our songs Lembe-Lembe in Mauritius because there was a studio there. And we released it at that time in the form of a cassette, the cover was the main ijo color," Saleh concluded.

For information, the presence of White Shoes & The Couples Compay on the African continent at that time indirectly made them the only Indonesian band to ever appear on five continents.
