JAKARTA - Absent from work for nearly two decades, Sens - a Jakarta-based band fronted by Dika Aleandra (vocals), Shena Ariyandi (guitar), and Andika Putra Maulana (drums) - released a new single titled Tanda Mata Dua.

This song tells the story of the social phenomena of urban life in big cities who have a pattern of relationships without being based on commitment.

"So, just sex. One night stand or the like," said Dika Aleandra to VOI, Saturday, November 16. In other words, the Second Eye Sign speaks of the void meaning of a relationship without love, or pseudo-romance.

The process of cultivating this song took two months and underwent several changes in the arrangement.

"This is the fourth arrangement format after previously being packaged in different contours. The music in this song is simpler, the sound is modern and the arrangement is not complicated, "explained Shena Ariyandi.

Wrapped in music described as 'neo soul', this song was written by Dika Aleandra and arranged by Shena Ariyandi with the help of Helvi Eriyanti in the bass department and Biem Fake Hero on the mixing and mastering side. For the stage performance, the band was assisted by Adib Syah (guitar), Kris (keyboard), and Novia Watung (backing vocals).

The phrase 'see your life from another point of view' is an appropriate statement to describe why people should listen to this song, because the theme is not like a love story in general.

"There is a different point of view to see a problem," drummer Andika Putra Maulana tried to convince the listeners.

The first single from this third album is already available on a number of streaming platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, and others. While waiting for the video clip to be released, let's watch the lyric video below:

Sens was formed with a concept called expressive romantic pop. The band is heavily influenced by the musical styles of Sting, Toto, Chicago and the like. Feeling that more space was needed, the first album was released independently and collaborated with Virgo Ramayana Records. Assisted by Bongky Ismail Marcel (BIP), the album Season Change was born in 1998.

Featuring many percussion elements and nylon acoustic guitars, this album is considered quite characteristic and characteristic. Even though in terms of sales it was only able to break the 20 thousand copies mark, Sens is considered to have had a distinctive sound because there were not many commercial / industrial considerations.

In 2000, assisted by Harry Budiman and Pay 'BIP', Sens was signed by the record company Universal Music Indonesia. Playing mostly in lighter pop areas and more towards adult contemporary music, the release of this second album was less commercially successful due to lack of promotion from the relevant record label.

The second album, entitled Seribu Malam Menanti, continues to produce a radio hit in Central Java, Because You Are, which is still in demand by a number of 90s-era Indonesian music lovers.
