Psycho, Trek Dark Red Velvet Menutup Seri The Reve Festival

JAKARTA - South Korean female K-pop group Red Velvet released Psycho today, December 23. The track Psycho became the mainstay number of the full album The Reve Festival Finale which was released on the same day.

In June, this group made by SM Entertainment released The Reve Festival Day 1 by making Zimzalabim the main track followed by Umpah Umpah as the mainstay of The Reve Festival Day 2.

The Psycho track is an uptempo urban pop genre that still shows the vocal quality of Red Velvet's personnel.

The Psycho track was produced by Cazzi Opeia, who previously worked on the Peek A Boo track for Red Velvet along with Kenzie and Yoo Young Jin who had subscribed to compose songs for singers under the SM Entertainment label.

The Psycho music video is dominated by dark colors and the use of the cover with bold colors. Red Velvet personnel also wear monochrome clothes throughout the rolling music video. They run to save each other and gather in a room singing verse by verse the song Psycho.

Psycho tells of the love affair of two people who are often considered strange and even Psycho by those around them. This raises self-doubt and questions the relationship. The lyrics of "Hey now we'll be ok" serve as the complementary hook to this three minute track.

Red Velvet personnel's falsetto can be heard clearly from the Psycho track and further enhances each member's qualified vocals. This is also heard from the tracks on the album The Reve Festival Finale. Tracks from the album The Reve Festival Day 1 and 2 are also included on the album which has this game park visual. This latest album also features La Rouge as a special track from their appearance at the latest concert, La Rouge.

Red Velvet just finished holding La Rouge, their latest Korean concert in November. They will bring concerts to Japan in 2020. It is not yet known whether they will be promoting Psycho on a number of music shows.

However, a few minutes after the release of Psycho on Youtube, the hashtags #SayPSYCHO and #RedVelvet and several names of personnel immediately topped the trending topic of Twitter. The song Psycho also debuted at number five on Melon. The album The Reve Festival Finale can be heard in physical and digital form.
