JAKARTA - PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) responded to complaints circulating on social media regarding alleged engine knocking on the Honda Vario Evo 160 engine. The complaint appeared shortly after the latest matik scooter was officially marketed in Indonesia.

AHM Thomas Wijaya Executive Vice President Director said his party was ready to follow up on every report submitted by consumers through Honda's official workshop network or AHASS so that a thorough inspection could be carried out.

"So if there are inputs or if consumers need something, please come to our network, to AHASS," said Thomas when met in Jakarta, not long ago.

Thomas explained that until now AHM has not been able to conclude the cause of the alleged leak. According to him, the company needs to first examine the condition of each unit reported before giving further explanation.

He also emphasized that all Honda products that are marketed have gone through a production process with strict quality standards and a series of tests before being marketed to consumers.

"We are back in good quality production, of course it has passed various tests. Well, of course we will see what the condition is like," he said.

Previously, a post on social media showed an alleged oil leak in the engine area of the Honda Vario Evo 160. In the post, the owner of the motorcycle said that the condition was experienced by the motorcycle that had just been used about a day after it was received by the owner.

Although the original upload on TikTok has been deleted by the account owner, similar content later circulated after being re-uploaded by another account, which triggered the attention of netizens. On the other hand, Thomas revealed that the market's response to the Honda Vario Evo 160 was relatively positive.

It's worth noting that this latest matic scooter is equipped with a liquid-cooled eSP+ 156.9 cc four-valve engine that still produces a maximum power of 15.19 hp at 8,500 rpm. In addition to maintaining engine performance, AHM also presents a refresh on the design and a number of new features, the Honda Vario Evo 160 is now marketed in three variants, namely CBS for IDR 28.2 million, CBS Nitro IDR 28.7 million, and ABS IDR 31.4 million.
