JAKARTA - French lubricant manufacturer Motul has officially taken a strategic step by acquiring a 10 percent stake in Eurosport Events (EMP). EMP is a company that is a promoter and organizer of the FIM EWC World Endurance Championship.

This step is part of an effort to strengthen Motul's position in the global two-wheel endurance racing ecosystem. The investment is seen as an important impetus to expand the market while supporting the growth of endurance racing, including in the Asia Pacific region which continues to show great potential.

Through this collaboration, both parties are committed to increasing the visibility of the championship, expanding access for spectators, and deepening fan engagement. Motul Asia Pacific Chief Marketing Officer Carlo Savoca, emphasized that this step is a manifestation of the company's long-term commitment in the world of motorsports, including endurance racing.

"This also reflects our spirit to continue to support riders and partners through technological innovations that improve performance, reliability, and other technical aspects. This partnership strengthens Motul's position in key markets including Asia Pacific and deepens Motul's involvement with the motorcycle community in various countries," said Carlo Savoca, quoted from the official statement, Friday, April 24.

As part of the initial implementation, Motul introduced the Motul Challenge program which will debut at the Spa Motos 8 Hours. This program is designed to help teams in the Superstock and Production categories through product support and financial incentives for teams that excel in each series.

Not only focusing on the team, Motul is also working on developing young talent through the internship program Garages Ecoles which was initiated through the Motul Corazon Foundation. This program gives students of technical schools the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the world championship, ranging from working in the team garage, interacting with drivers and mechanics, to attending the podium ceremony.

In the midst of the digital era, FIM EWC is now also expanding its reach through various platforms. Motul as a long-term partner will actively support the technical needs of the team while building closeness with the fan community through direct experience and digital content.

"Our goal is to jointly design concepts and innovations that have high value," said Claude Michy, President of EMP.

Motul itself is not a new player in endurance racing. For more than four decades, this company has been actively involved and since 2024 has been an official supplier of the FIM EWC. Its role includes technical support, sports entertainment development, to contributions in the commercial sector.

With experience in presenting high-performance lubricants that can survive in extreme conditions, Motul is a partner for a number of top teams such as Yoshimura SERT Motul, Kawasaki Webike Trickstar, F.C.C. TSR Honda France, to Honda HRC. In addition, Motul's presence is also felt in various prestigious events such as the 24 Heures Motos and the 8 Hours of Suzuka.

Through this strategic move, Motul confirms its existence as one of the key players in the global motor endurance racing world, with a focus on innovation, performance, and experiences that are closer to fans.
