This Chinese Motor Is Expected To Be A Yamaha Tmax Competitor, What's The Excess?

JAKARTA - A Chinese manufacturer, Zontes, introduced a new premium scooter line called the 552 Series. There are four models prepared to launch globally starting 2026, each carrying different characters but still using the same machine platform.

The four models include 552G, 552S, 552H, and 552Z. The 552G variant comes as an adventure-style scooter with semi-off-road tires and higher suspensions. This model is intended for motorists who need flexible motorbikes for use in cities and out-of-town routes.

For sports fans, Zontes offers 552S which carries an aggressive design, double LED projector headlights, and a small winglet in the fascia section. While 552H is positioned as the most premium variant with a more assertive sporty style, including a combination of the yellow-black color that is its trademark.

The 552Z comes as a sports-touring option, combining aerodynamic body with a winglet-style cowl front and a neater stern. This model is intended for motorists who want a sporty scooter but are still comfortable for long-distance travel.

All models in the 552 Series use a two-cylindrical engine parallel to 531 cc which is capable of generating up to 51 horsepowers. The engine uses a liquid cooler and is designed to weigh relatively light to produce responsive acceleration.

Upside-down suspension in front, double disc brakes, and mono-shocks behind are also pinned to support stability. Reporting from Greatbiker, Tuesday, November 11, this scooter is predicted to be a competitor to Yamaha Tmax.

Modern features are also one of Zontes' focuses. The four models are equipped with an ABS system, a TFT instrument panel that can be connected to a smartphone, as well as a smart key system (keyless) for easy daily use.

Zontes called the series their big breakthrough in the global market. With modern designs, abundant features, and high performance, Series 552 is targeted to start globally marketed in 2026, including into the Southeast Asia region.
