JAKARTA - Ducati officially introduced the latest generation of Monster 2026, a naked bike that combines high performance with modern technology. Even so, Ducati Monster's distinctive character is maintained.

Reporting from Visordown, Friday, October 24, this motorbike comes with a new engine, a lighter chassis, and an increase in the comfort side and electronic features. Starting from the appearance, Monster 2026 retains its strong identity, namely compact, muscular, and aggressive.

Ducati also offers two color choices, Ducati Red and Iceberg White, as well as two variants namely the standard Monster and Monster Plus which are equipped with a flyscreen and a back seat cover. Then the chassis gets a total refresher.

Ducati Monster 2026 now carries an aluminum monocok frame directly connected to the cylinder's head, combined with a double trellis and swingarm subframe inspired by Panigale V4. As a result, the bare weight decreased to just 175 kilograms. 4 kilograms lighter than the previous model.

The suspension system relies on an upside-down fork Showa measuring 43 mm on the front, while the back is equipped with a shock absorber that can be pre-loaded. For braking, Ducati uses a Brembo M4.32 radial Kaliper with a double disk measuring 320 mm in front, providing a strong and precise grip.

This new model is equipped with a V2 engine with a capacity of 890 cc with Intake Variable Timing (IVT) technology, which is designed to produce more refined and efficient power. The machine is capable of ejecting up to 109.5 stances at 9,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 67 lb-ft at 7,250 rpm.

More than 80 percent of the torques have been available from 4,000 to 10,000 rpm, making Monster 2026 responsive at various speeds. Safety technology is also in the spotlight. Monster 2026 is equipped with a six-axis IMU unit that controls ABS cornering, transaction control, wheelie control, and engine brake control.

Drivers can choose four driving modes, namely Sport, Road, Urban, and Wet through joysticks on the left handlebar. The 5-inch TFT instrument panel now performs more modern and interactive, complete with day and night mode, multimedia integration, navigation, and cruise control options.

In terms of ergonomics, Ducati redesigned the sitting position to make it more comfortable with a slightly higher handlebar and an 815mm seat that can be adjusted to a lower version. Pirelli Marquez Rosso IV's built-in tire measuring 120/70 in front and 180/55 behind ensures optimal grip on various road conditions.

Ducati also made improvements to maintenance efficiency. Service intervals are now longer, where valve gap checks can be carried out every 45,000 kilometers. This step makes the latest Monsters more practical and economical for daily users.

Monster 2026 is scheduled to go on sale in Europe in February next year, before following the US, Japan, and Australia markets. However, the price for this latest Ducati Monster has yet to be disclosed.
