KTM Trial 990 SMT Secretly, Here Are The Specification Estimates

JAKARTA - KTM is testing the 990 SMT model with a large dimension and a high posture. This is evidenced by the motorbike being caught on camera being tested on the road with a dashing design, but shrouded in black stickers as a disguise.

Launching from BikeWale, Tuesday, August 27, the motorbike appears with a rim of 17 inches or smaller than the Adventure version, and has road-oriented tires so that it is suitable for touring.

In addition, smaller rims in the SMT variant can improve control dynamics as it offers better agility compared to the Adventure version which is believed to be relatively slow control.

It is estimated that the production version of the motor will be more similar to 990 Adventure with a fore profile that houses a central LED set projector flanked by two small LED DRLs. Meanwhile, the LED cover is higher.

The Austrian manufacturer will also adopt the use of the TFT screen as an instrument that functions as an important information provider and smartphone connectivity.

KTM 990 SMT will also get a number of motorist assistance features such as tracking control levels, ride modes, engine braking levels, anti-lock braking system (ABS) technology, and much more.

It is possible that KTM 990 SMT will be armed by a 947 cc parallel-twin LC8c engine whose power reaches 126 dk and torque 103 Nm. However, there is a potential that the power becomes lower when compared to the Adventure and RC R versions.

It is not yet known when this motorbike will be introduced globally, but KTM will bring a number of larger-capacity motors to India in the next few months.
