First Time In Asia-Pacific, BMW Motorrad Introduces R 12 At IIMS 2024

JAKARTA - PT Layur Astiti Bumi Kencana, as an importer and distributor from BMW Motorrad in Indonesia officially launched a classic cruise motorcycle, R12, at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024.

This launch is also the debut of this model in the Asia-Pacific region.

"Today we will launch a flagship product, namely R12. This launch is proof of our commitment as general importers to expand the model in Indonesia," said Fransiska Ingris, as Chief Executive Officer of BMW Motorrad Indonesia, at the launch in Kemayoran, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 20.

Despite having a classic European motorcycle design, the bike is equipped with a variety of modern features, consisting of Gear Shift Assistant, Hill Start Control, Connected by Ride Control, Cruise Control, and ABS Pro.

This motorbike has a classic cruise look. However, this is combined with advanced technology in it, added Davy Tuilan, as Chief Operating Officer of BMW Motorrad Indonesia.

Gear Shift Assistant is useful in removing teeth without coupling so that drivers easily make smooth changes in transmission without any lags or obstacles.

Meanwhile, Hill Start Control is useful as a safety feature that helps drive on inclines or derivatives. This system can hold the motorbike when it is uphill or down by pulling the brakes on the motorcycle for 5 seconds and keeping the motorbike stuck.

Then, Connected by Ride Control has a function as a link via Bluetooth to the driver's smartphone through the BMW Motorrad Connected application.

The features in four-wheeled vehicles such as Cruise Control are also offered, functioning to make it easier for motorcyclists to drive stably by adjusting the speed of vehicles at a certain speed.

ABS Pro is presented as a standard consisting of two types, namely Cornering ABS is useful in minimizing the change in the motor tilt when the motorcycle brake is activated, so that the condition of the understeer or oversteer can be avoided.

Furthermore, there is the Part Integral ABS which functions to activate the front and rear brakes simultaneously when the handbrake lever is used and optimizes the angle and the dynamic braking force distribution.

Regarding prices, BMW Motorrad sells R 12 for IDR 775.9 million On The Road DKI Jakarta by offering two color options, namely Blackstorm Metallic and Aventurine Red.
