TVS To Launch New Electric Motor In The Second Quarter Of 2024, Highest IQube Variant?

JAKARTA - TVS Motor Company, one of India's leading two-wheeled manufacturers, will reportedly launch a new electric motor in the next three months, which is thought to be the highest variant of iQube.

This information was revealed directly by the CEO of TVS, KN Radhakrishnan. He stated that the company is preparing to release new electric two-wheeled vehicles in the coming quarter, as reported by Autocar India, Friday, January 26.

When asked about the specific brand to be used for this upcoming electric vehicle model, Radhakrishnan did not provide specific details. However, he stressed that the new electric vehicle product would "enrich customer needs".

While no concrete information has yet been revealed regarding the upcoming TVS EV, it is likely that the company will launch the iQube ST variant as the highest variant.

As is known, iQube ST has long been a topic of conversation and has been delayed, caused by changes in the landscape of electric vehicles in India and reduced subsidies.

In the previous year, at the MotoSoul TVS festival, a company official hinted that ST's iQube launch was scheduled for 2024. This was further strengthened by calls from investors.

Specifically, the iQube ST will be powered by a 4.56 kWh battery with a range of up to 145 km according to IDC. The battery charging process takes 4 hours 6 minutes to reach 80 percent capacity when connected to a 950W charger. ST is also the only iQube model that supports a 1.5 kW fast charging capability.
