Others Already, Here's The Response Suzuki Hasn't Presented An Electric Motor In Indonesia

Towards carbon neutrality, various two-wheeled manufacturers are racing to present a variety of electric motors in Indonesia. Including Japanese giants from Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki.

Honda has EM1 which has been introduced, while Yamaha has E01 which is currently being tested to be presented in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Kawasaki has also released Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 in Indonesia. So what about other fellow Japanese manufacturers, namely Suzuki?

As it turned out, PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) said it had no intention of presenting electric motors in the near future, and focused on the existing line of products.

According to M. Razwankaizar as Section Head Domestic & Digital Marketing 2W of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, his party is currently still focusing on the line of products being marketed.

"We are still focused on existing products. For electric motorbikes, we don't have any plans yet. From principals, we haven't talked about other products. Indeed, Suzuki recently launched the Burgman Street 125 EX at the IMOS + event, where the motorbike is priced starting at IDR 24 million.

Back to the electric motor, Joshi Prasetya as PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales' Strategic Planning Department Head, Suzuki will definitely see opportunities in all business lines. But what remains the focus is how to make reliable products and can support everyday mobility.

"It is possible to go that way, because globally technology already exists," he concluded.

Reflecting on Suzuki Global, it has indeed introduced the concept of e- Burgman, which has gone through various researches at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. Of course, it is worth waiting for the presence of a Suzuki electric motorbike for the Indonesian market.
