Still Intact Imports From Thailand, Will Scomadi Build Motorcycles In Indonesia?

JAKARTA - Scomadi, a British motorcycle brand that has just penetrated the Indonesian market, introduced various retro-style motorcycle models. However, all available models are still fully imported from Thailand.

Dennis Kadaruskan, Head of Public Relations of Scomadi Indonesia, explained that currently all the models sold come directly from Thailand because the country offers production facilities that are complete with high technology.

"We chose Thailand because of its excellent production quality and in accordance with the main standards in presenting premium motorcycle models," he said during an interview in Jakarta, Sunday, November 5.

Dennis also stated that, for the time being, Scomadi Indonesia is only focused on importing products without assembling them in Indonesia, although they do not rule out starting production in Indonesia in the future.

Even though Scomadi is a new brand in Indonesia, the company is committed to strengthening the dealers' network to ensure optimal sales service for motors from England. They plan to open seven dealers by 2024 in various regions in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the price of Scomadi's motorbike in Indonesia starts at a low of around IDR 79 million, and is already available for orders through the official dealers' network.
