Maeving, an electric motorcycle manufacturer from Coventry, England, has launched a new version of their upgraded urban electric motor, RM1S. This latest model is a refinement of RM1 which was first introduced in 2021.

This RM1S has a maximum speed that is claimed to reach 105 km/h, which is much higher than the standard RM1 which can only reach 72 km/hour. This increase in performance is due to the use of rear motors with an enhanced 9.4 dk power, with output peaks reaching 14.3 dk, much higher than the original model which only has a 6 dk output peak.

Quoted from MCN, September 1, the delivery of RM1S, which is priced at 7,495 pounds, or around Rp144 million, will begin in March 2024.

In addition to more powerful engines, the 2023 engine is also equipped with a pair of 2.6kWh-removable batteries, which claims to increase battery capacity by 30% compared to the old RM1. Battery charging time is 80% in 3.5 hours, or charging in 4.5 hours - either battery units can be interfaced to external resources at home.

Alternatively, batteries can also be recharged on motorbikes by connecting the cable directly to the bike itself.

"RM1S is a bicycle that is always requested by motorists who want zero-emissions motorcycles that look like RM1 but are able to reach high speeds on the highway. We have worked very hard to ensure that all the things that make RM1 so popular among our customers can be adopted to the new RM1S, while providing better performance that will allow it to be used in various use cases," said Co-founder Will Stirrup.

Despite its power, RM1S retains its distinctive performance with a retro-boardtracker design, as well as iconic 19-inch shape wheels. The steel crane range has also been slightly modified, along with irreversible front suspension settings and pre-regulated rear suspension settings, but still provides the same driving comfort as before, with only more agile acceleration.

To provide better braking power, this bicycle is now equipped with a 300mm front disk (from the previous 240mm) in collaboration with a single triple three piston.
