JAKARTA - In celebration of its 100th anniversary, BMW Motorrad launched a prototype of the newest model in its M-line: M 1000 XR.

M 1000 XR has a basis for models such as S 1000 XR, S 1000 XR, and M 1000 RR and is claimed to have good dynamic capabilities to drive on highways and racing tracks.

Reported by the BMW Group page, Tuesday, June 6, M 1000 XR has a powerful 4-cylinder linear engine taken from S 1000 R with BMW ShiftCam technology.

With this machine, M 1000 XR can generate more than 200 dk of power. This moge performance is also assisted by chassis technology, aerodynamics, and control electronics which are available for the use of high-performance motors.

M 1000 XR is also given a winglet with the aim of increasing driving stability in high speeds. BMW also creates a sitting position for front wheels-oriented motorcyclists to ensure better motor controls.

With a weight reduction of only 223 kg and an increase in several aspects of driving dynamics and the tightening of special M Competition Package packages, M 1000 XR can go at a maximum speed of up to 280 km/hour.

BMW also presents a braking system, M Brakes, to maximize motor performance from the highest speed to braking with precision and optimal on race tracks and highways.

The braking system was developed based on experience obtained from the BMW Motorrad racing team at the World Superbike event. On the M-brake calibre, it features a blue anodization layer with the M logo on it.

M 1000 XR information is currently still limited, but BMW Motorrad will notify further in the second half of 2023.
